Old School Fan's Shoes

My newest pair! Commissioned by , an awesome fellow animator of mine.

These shoes have a lot of old time classics on them. We've got Haruko and Canti from FLCL, a chocobo from the Final Fantasy series, Yoshi from the Mario franchise, Ed and Ein from Cowboy Bebop and the NERV logo from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Holy crap, that's a lot of old school! Sure reminds you of the golden days of anime, doesn't it?

These shoes required much more work than my previous pairs. Color mixing takes up a lot of time, but the results are well worth it. This is the first time I've decided to paint the metal shoelace loops outside the shoes - they look pretty nice. This is also a first for extensive tongue work: haven't done anything like the NERV logo on a shoe tongue... since ever.
